Guest climbing
What is guest climbing?
Guest climbing is mainly intended for visitors from other clubs who are staying in Aalborg for a short period of time.
If you are a first-time climber and want to give climbing a try, you can also use guest climbing. However, it is important to know that you will be on your own — there is no instruction or introduction to climbing or the club’s facilities included. That is why we strongly recommend setting up an arrangement with a club member or the club host Malte to show you around and give you an introduction to the club and climbing. You can post a request for a club member to show you around on Facebook or get in touch with Malte, the club host, on mail: info@aalborgklatreklub.dk or per telephone: +45 71 79 11 20. The telephone is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM.

As a guest climber, you are free to climb in all the bouldering areas. Rope climbing in the rope hall is only allowed if you are climbing with a member who is certified to belay you on top rope — you are not allowed to belay top rope yourself, lead climb or lead belay without a valid belay certificate. You are also not allowed to use the club’s auto-belays unless you are with a member who has a valid belay certificate.
If you do have a valid belay certificate — or if you are visiting from abroad and have learned to lead climb and belay outdoors — you will need to check in with one of our instructors or the club host. They will assess whether your climbing aligns with Klatring Danmark’s recommendations.
